Do you have a patient who could benefit from dietetic support?
I accept referrals from all healthcare professionals and prefer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team especially when it comes to diagnosed eating disorders.
Following a referral, you will receive a comprehensive assessment report including a treatment plan (subject to the patient consenting to this)
I can support your patients who are suffering from an eating disorder/disordered eating by:
Conducting a comprehensive nutritional assessment which includes an anthropometric, biochemical and clinical assessment as well as a quantitative and qualitative assessment of dietary intake and eating disorder behaviours.
Creating a customised plan to prevent refeeding syndrome which includes prophylactic vitamin prescription, monitoring of electrolytes whilst slowly increasing calorie intake with possible supplementation of Phosphate and Potassium if required
Psychoeducation about the short-term and long-term risks of an eating disorder/disordered eating behaviours including restriction, vomiting, laxative abuse, excessive exercise
Creating bespoke meal plan guidance to help them get back on track in a way that feels safe and manageable for them
Supporting patients experiencing symptoms of malnutrition through education, a ‘food first’ approach and nutritional supplementation if necessary
Supporting patients with weight restoration at a rate that feels manageable for them whilst mitigating any clinical risks associated with being underweight
Practical support including supported meals to overcome their fear of foods
